Dr Chen has been working as a clinician and researcher since graduating with an MBBS degree in 2010. He pursued postgraduate studies at the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra, where he obtained an MSc in Neuroscience. Subsequently, he earned a PhD in Medicine from the University of Adelaide in 2017.

He began his residency at Alice Springs Hospital in Central Australia and went on to work at several hospitals across the country, including St. Vincent, Calvary, Westmead, and Auburn hospitals. Dr Chen’s decision to specialise in family medicine stems from his desire to encounter a diverse range of clinical presentations, each presenting an element of uncertainty when entering the consultation room. He finds it rewarding to be a part of the community, providing ongoing care and ensuring continuity for his patients. With a wealth of experience in both hospital and general practice settings, Dr Chen is a highly skilled clinician who firmly believes in adopting a holistic approach to patient care, emphasizing compassion, effective communication, and a comprehensive understanding of their needs in the decision-making process.

After completing his General Practice fellowship training, Dr Chen, along with his family, has chosen to settle down in the Hills District. During his leisure time, Dr Chen enjoys spending time with his young family. He has a passion for reading, swimming, exercising, and travelling.

Dr Chen has completed specialised study in the area of Skin Cancer treatment and prevention, and is highly experienced in this field. He is highly competent in Skin Cancer checks, detection, advice, treatment, and procedures including biopsies, excisions and cryotherapy.
