Your Doctor has registered for MyMedicare – now you can too!

Your Doctor has joined thousands of healthcare providers across Australia in registering in MyMedicare, a new voluntary registration system that will help formalise the relationship between your Doctor and you.

How does MyMedicare work?

MyMedicare allows you to nominate a general practitioner and the premises from which they see their patients as your regular healthcare provider. When you register in MyMedicare, extra funding from the Australian Government becomes available to support your Doctor to provide more of the targeted care you need. Patients who register with a Doctor in MyMedicare may benefit from:

Longer Telehealth Consultations

Longer MBS-funded telephone consultations.

Longer bulk billed telehealth consultations for children under 16 and Commonwealth concession card holders at the new triple bulk billing rate.

Chronic Disease Management Support

Connections to more appropriate care for people with chronic conditions who visit hospital frequently, from mid-2024.

Bulk Billed Consultations

Registered patients may get access to bulk billed consultations for certain appointments like Chronic Disease Management, Health Assessments and other appointment types at the treating providers discretion. Children 15 and under and concession card holders will continue to be bulk billed.

Continuity of Care

Registering with MyMedicare enables your Doctor to enhance the relationship between you and the clinical team, ensuring you get the best possible support and positive health outcomes.

Formalising the patient-Doctor relationship, like with MyMedicare, has been shown to improve health and wellbeing, and that is why you are invited to register in MyMedicare.

How do I know if I’m eligible to enrol?

If you have a valid Medicare card or Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Veteran card and have had two face-to-face consultations with a Doctor who sees their patients at this premises in the last 24 months, you are eligible for MyMedicare.

How do I register?

Registration is easy. To register as a MyMedicare patient, you can:
● Fill out a paper registration form available at the Reception desk

● Complete the registration process in your Medicare Online Account (follow the link below for Instructions)

● or via the Express Plus Medicare mobile app (follow link below for Instructions)

● Ask the Reception team to start the registration process – you can then complete registration in your Medicare Online Account.

DVA Card Holders

Patients who register with a DVA Veteran Card will need to fill out a registration form at the practice as registration via Medicare online services can only be completed using a Medicare card.
